500DL-M Medical Prescription Pulse Oximeter
To ensure that optimal accuracy is reached when using the pulse oximeter, please follow these tips:
- Low blood perfusion can affect accuracy of your readings. Warm your hands and fingers before taking your measurements by rubbing your hands together. Remember your pulse oximeter is measuring your SpO2 and PR based on your blood flow. If the blood flow in your finger drops below a certain level, the pulse oximeter will not be able to function.
- It usually takes 10 seconds to get a reading. Some people though may require a longer time for the pulse oximeter to optimize its sensitivity. You may have to wait about 30 seconds for the readings to stabilize.
- Keep your hand still while taking a reading - any movement can cause the device to reset its' reading.
- Nail polish and fake fingernails may cause false readings. If possible, switch to an unpolished nail or consider another application site.
How do I know the battery is low?
Please note that the flashing battery icon that appears each time you turn on the device indicates that the device is checking the power supply. It disappears after 2-3 blinks. If the battery icon remains on the LED display, then it is an indication of low battery level

What is the real accuracy deviation of this Zacurate Oximeter?

Are Zacurate pulse oximeters latex free?

Can I wear the pulse oximeter around my neck while on the treadmill to keep track of my oxygen and heart rate?
We usually advise users of our pulse oximeters to keep their hand still while taking a reading because any movement can cause the device to reset its' reading. If you are in the middle of exercising, we advise to take readings during resting phases while the body is not mobile.
Will this device show irregular heart rate like in a person with A-fib or A-flutter?
The pulse oximeter simply provides readings for your pulse rate and blood oxygen level (SpO2). You may want to check with your physician who will be in a better position to advice on what to look out for especially if you have a medical condition like a-fib.
Will this work at higher altitudes (approximately 8,000 to 12,000 feet elevation)?
The pulse oximeter is calibrated to work at sea level. While you can still use it at high elevation, you will need to know the normal range of your SpO2 at that elevation. Every individual is different and your doctor would be in the best position to provide the most accurate answer to this question. For this reason, we advise to consult your physician.
How do I know if I have full battery capacity?
When the battery indicator is full and the red lights are all lit up, it is an indication that the batteries are full.
