The design and size of the pulse oximeter makes it easy to carry around everywhere you go. |
Based on comments from more than a thousand feedback, we are proud to announce the launch of the Zacurate 500E fingertip pulse oximeter. Both the LED and sensor have been improved dramatically and can measure both the SpO2 (oxygen saturation) and PR (pulse rate) with extreme precision even at low blood perfusion. Just put your finger into the finger chamber and it will provide the readings within seconds. The 500E also retains the dual color OLED multi-directional display, allowing you to view your results in any directions. Suitable for sports enthusiasts and those who are interested in measuring their SpO2 and pulse rate.
How does the plethysmograph work?
Each wave seen on the pulse oximeter screen corresponds to your pulse rate/heart beat and the wave amplitude corresponds to the amount of blood flowing through the blood vessels. If the wave amplitude is low, this means that your blood perfusion might be too low for a reliable read. You should retake your measurement and make sure that your finger is positioned right under the LED light. The plethysmograph allows you to determine confidently if the registered reading is accurate.
This device is for Sports and Aviation use only and is not a medical device. Comes with 18-months manufacturer warranty. Terms and conditions apply.

To ensure that optimal accuracy is reached when using the pulse oximeter, please follow these tips:
- Low blood perfusion can affect accuracy of your readings. Warm your hands and fingers before taking your measurements by rubbing your hands together. Remember your pulse oximeter is measuring your SpO2 and PR based on your blood flow. If the blood flow in your finger drops below a certain level, the pulse oximeter will not be able to function.
- It usually takes 10 seconds to get a reading. Some people though may require a longer time for the pulse oximeter to optimize its sensitivity. You may have to wait about 30 seconds for the readings to stabilize.
- Keep your hand still while taking a reading - any movement can cause the device to reset its' reading.
- Nail polish and fake fingernails may cause false readings. If possible, switch to an unpolished nail or consider another application site.
Is there a recommended product to use to sterilize this device?
You can simply use disinfecting wipes to clean the oximeter.
Can I get a reading if I use the oximeter on my thumb?
You can certainly use the pulse oximeter on your thumb or any fingers for that matter.
What kind of battery does the Zacurate pulse oximeter use?
The Zacurate fingertip pulse oximeter uses 2x AAA alkaline batteries.
Does this pulse oximeter provide blood pressure readings?
The pulse oximeter measures the SpO2 (blood oxygen level) and the pulse rate. It does not measure blood pressure.
Does this pulse oximeter measure heart or pulse rate?
The pulse oximeter measures both the heart/pulse rate.
What is highest beats per minute (bpm) that this monitor can measure?
The display range for the Zacurate oximeter pulse rate is between 25 bpm to 250 bpm.
What type of batteries can be used to replace the batteries that come with the product?
The pulse oximeter requires 2x AAA alkaline batteries. We do not suggest that you use rechargeable batteries because some may not work with the device.
Does this unit record data for long periods of time?
The pulse oximeter simply gives real time readings of the pulse rate and blood oxygen level (SpO2). It does not record data.
What is the real accuracy deviation of this Zacurate Oximeter?
The pulse oximeter has an accuracy level of +/-2%.
Are zacurate pulse oximeters latex free?
Our pulse oximeter is latex free. In fact the hypoallergenic finger chamber is made of medical grade silicone.
What are normal oxygen saturation levels?
The normal reading for blood oxygen is typically in the 95-100 range. However, there are certain conditions where this may not apply. Your doctor will be in the best position to advice where your readings should be.
Can I wear the pulse oximeter around my neck while on the treadmill to keep track of my oxygen and heart rate?
We usually advise users of our pulse oximeters to keep their hand still while taking a reading because any movement can cause the device to reset its' reading. If you are in the middle of exercising, we advise to take readings during resting phases while the body is not mobile.
Will this device show irregular heart rate like in a person with A-fib or A-flutter?
The pulse oximeter simply provides readings for your pulse rate and blood oxygen level (SpO2). You may want to check with your physician who will be in a better position to advice on what to look out for especially if you have a medical condition like a-fib.
Will this work at higher altitudes (approximately 8,000 to 12,000 feet elevation)?
The pulse oximeter is calibrated to work at sea level. While you can still use it at high elevation, you will need to know the normal range of your SpO2 at that elevation. Every individual is different and your doctor would be in the best position to provide the most accurate answer to this question. For this reason, we advise to consult your physician.
How do I know if I have full battery capacity?
When the battery indicator is full and the red lights are all lit up, it is an indication that the batteries are full.
What is the battery life of Zacurate pulse oximeters?
The batteries usually last approximately 30-40 hours of active use depending on the model you purchase.
Does this product ever need recalibration?
The finger pulse oximeter does not need any calibration. However, if you have any issues with the device, please do not hesitate to contact us at cs@beyondmedshop.com. We will be more than happy to further assist.
Can I use your Zacurate pulse oximeter during sleep?
The pulse oximeter does not have a memory function and does not save your last reading. It will give you a reading as long as you have your finger inside the finger chamber. Once you take your finger out, the pulse oximeter will turn off after 10 seconds. Since it does not record data it is not meant to be used overnight or during sleep.
Does the pulse oximeter take a reading on pets/animals?
Please note that this pulse oximeter is developed specifically for human beings and may not be suitable for an animal or pet. Please consult with your vet who will be able to suggest a more suitable device for animals.
